What is piriformis syndrome and how is it treated?
Someone told me that numbness, pain, and tingling down the leg could be a major sign of Piriformis Syndrome, when I have been taking it lightly! Can anyone explain what this condition is and how professional medical practitioners go about treating it?

Piriformis syndrome occurs when the piriformis muscle in the buttock spasms or tightens, pressing on the sciatic nerve and causing pain, numbness, or tingling down the leg. Conservative treatment includes rest and activity modification, application of ice and a heating pad, medications, and physical therapy. You can also opt for advanced treatments like surgery and injections.
